He was even working for Richard Dawkins when Dawkins was publicly shaming Ray Comfort for videos that appeared as if Ray was saying that bananas prove the existence of God—which eventually culminated in Ray being known as The Banana Man. Yet by the grace of God, over a decade later, Josh ended up coming to Christ! Here’s his story.

Josh Timonen was an atheist activist, working as personal assistant to Richard Dawkins - one of the leading voices claiming that God cannot possibly exist. Together, Josh and Richard worked to attack the very idea of believing in God. Later, after several years of questioning the meaning of life and his foundation for right and wrong, Josh found himself in a church for the first time in 20 years. At that church, Timonen and his wife were confronted with the historical fact of Jesus' life, ministry, and resurrection, all of which he had dismissed early on in his atheism. Within the year, Josh and his wife placed their faith in Christ. Today, Josh ministers through Bibles & Barbells, a ministry he founded by combining men's Bible study and weightlifting that now has chapters in the U.S. and Canada.
